Black Series Jabba the Hutt Figure Now $15.64 on Amazon
Amazon prices change constantly, but as of this writing the Black Series Jabba the Hutt figure is only $15.64 on Amazon, with free shipping if you’re an Amazon Prime member. That’s an incredible deal, I must say. I already have several of these (particularly if you include the SDCC version), but I picked up another just on general principle. A lot of people weren’t happy that they released Jabba as a lone figure with no accessories and a $40 suggested retail price, but it’s hard to complain about this price.
Jabba the Hutt $1 Silver-Plated Coin by the New Zealand Mint
The New Zealand Mint puts out a variety of commemorative coins featuring pop culture characters, and in 2011-2012 they had a line of Star Wars coins. I knew there was supposed to be a Jabba, and I checked the website for it occasionally, but never saw anything but the Millennium Falcon and Darth Vader boxed sets. I never saw the individual coins come up there, and since the Star Wars series is no longer even on their site, I thought that maybe it had never been released. But I recently found this on eBay, and thankfully it was relatively reasonable (about $20). There’s also a gold-plated version, but as that’s several times the price I’m passing for the moment. According to the back of the package, they put out 50,000 of these.
The coin features Jabba the Hutt and Queen Elizabeth (she’s the one on the right above…). I’m not sure how the color part is printed on the coin, but it’s a bit fancier than just a sticker. Also, the “Jabba the Hutt” name appears to be part of the coin itself, so it’s not as though every coin is identical with the exception of the colored area. It’s a nice looking coin with a fair amount of weight to it, but I don’t entirely understand the appeal of this kind of product.

Jabba the Hutt InkFusion Lite Case for iPhone 6 Plus by Skinit.com
Apologies for the lack of updates lately. A combination of a bad cold and a large project for work left me with very little energy to do anything else, but I’m getting back to normal now, and I do have a number of things in the pipeline for you.
The first is this iPhone case. It’s essentially a “print to order” product that Skinit.com sells in various forms for a huge variety of phones and other devices. Now, I don’t generally like wearing my fandom on my sleeve. For example, I have a lot of t-shirts with Jabba on them, but I don’t generally wear them or anything else with Star Wars on it. And I’ve never really wanted to have a Star Wars phone case — in fact, I rarely use cases of any kind. But this one changed my mind. I’ve been wanting something that makes the phone a bit less slippery and offers a little protection against dings, without making it feel bigger than it already is. The “InkFusion Lite” case fit the bill. It’s a very thin shell case that probably would provide very limited protection in the event of a drop, but that’s not why I’m using it.
They have a number of licensed Star Wars designs, but for the most part they’re not great. Most of the photos are from the prequels, and they have a lot of Yoda, Vader and clones but hardly any of the other characters. But they do have this great shot of Jabba. Depending on the device you order it for, you may get the whole image (like for a laptop skin or iPad case), but for a phone you just get Jabba’s face and part of his torso. The cool thing is that because of the way the picture is composed, when I’m holding phone normally, you can still see Jabba peeking over my hand:

For those of you celebrating Thanksgiving today, I thought I would share this picture that my son drew of Jabba and Salacious Crumb in pilgrim hats. It may be a little hard to tell, but he’s apparently got gravy in his hooka, and the gargoyles on his throne are actually turkey heads. 😀
Vintage Return of the Jedi Pajamas (With C-3PO, R2-D2 and Jabba’s Sail Barge) by Wilker Bros.
I’ve written at length in the past about how vintage pajamas and other clothing items are some of the harder items to track down, even though they aren’t really very valuable. These are no exception. I think these are the only ones I’ve found in the years I’ve been actively collecting. But even if they were mint in the package they wouldn’t even come close to the action figures in terms of “collectibility” or value.
I like pajamas in particular because they remind me of a particular time in my childhood when I would’ve worn something very similar to bed. One of my “holy grail” items would be a mint-in-package version of the Jabba the Hutt pajamas that Wilker Bros. also produced. Right now, all I have is the tops. Still, since these are the same design and color, I can marry the bottoms from this set with my Jabba tops, add in the matching bathrobe and I’ll have a complete set.
Star Wars Chubbies Leia (Russian Nesting Doll Figures) by Hot Toys
Hot Toys is most famous for its very expensive and very detailed 1/6 scale figures, but they’ve also done a number of other kinds of toys, like this series of figures styled after Russian nesting dolls released back in 2008. I remember buying a few of these, but never really got into them and I think they sort of petered out not long after these were released. They are made of plastic in two pieces, with magnetic feet that double as stands.
The smaller figures (Slave Leia and Endor Leia) all fit inside the larger Boushh figure, although the feet don’t really fit inside, as far as I can tell.
The Boushh figure also has a helmet at backpack (not pictured).
Hot Toys hasn’t made figures in this series for a number of years, but apparently Unbox Industries is reviving the concept for some new figures due out shortly. And they are supposed to be releasing a Jabba, Bib Fortuna and Salacious Crumb! (Click here and scroll down to see.)

“Jabba the Mutt” T-Shirt for Dogs by Giant
According to the Star Wars Collector’s Archive, this “dog tee” was released in 2005. I’m sure they made different sizes for various breeds, but this one is quite small. Maybe for a terrier or large chihuahua. We don’t have a dog (and even if we did, I don’t think I would be dressing it in one of these), so I pressed one of my son’s stuffed animals into service to model it.
Jabba Ghost Pin (Pac-Man Parody) by Pin Me Down Designs
This pin, by Pin Me Down Designs, depicts Jabba as a ghost from Pac-Man. They also made a Max Rebo as Pac-Man pin, but that is unfortunately sold out, and I’m having trouble even finding an image of it now. It’s quite small — maybe half an inch wide. Apparently pins similar to these are sold at Phish concerts.
Disney Empire Strikes Back Figurine Playset
I posted about the Return of the Jedi version of this set a while back, but for some reason it took quite a while for the Empire version to become available. It’s got several figures that could work in a Jabba display (Boba Fett, Han in Carbonite, and R2-D2 specifically). At $12.95 (or $10 apiece if you buy two during Disney’s current sale), they’re a real steal.
I mentioned in my entry on the Jedi set that several of the pieces appeared to have been based on Attakus statues. I can’t really say the same for these. It’s difficult to tell with things like Han in Carbonite or R2-D2, but the other ones don’t seem to match Attakus statues even though Attakus did do versions of those characters. X-Wing Luke looks the closest, but it’s actually quite different in the details.
Jabba the Hutt Plush by Comic Images
When I first started this site 5 years ago, there were very few options for Jabba the Hutt plushes. The Star Wars Buddies Jabba from Kenner was about it. But since then we’ve had quite a few, including a Jabba “Scruffy” (also by Comic Images), the Previews Exclusive large talking plush, and even a couple of dog toys that could pass for plushes (see here and here). This is the most recent addition, and it’s quite well done. It’s about 12″ wide and constructed of a fairly soft plush material. The details appear to have been applied with a kind of paint on top of the plush material, as opposed to the Previews Exclusive version, which uses embroidered details. So I’m a little unsure about its longevity. I could see the paint (or whatever it is) coming off if this actually got used very much. Other than that, it’s a nice plush for a reasonable price (I paid around $14). It’s pictured below with the Previews Exclusive Jabba, since they’re the only two currently available, and they’re also the best and largest Jabba plushes that have been made.
