Jabba and Slave Leia Sketch Cards by Otis Frampton

This is a set of two original sketch cards by Otis Frampton done in markers and colored pencils. Poor Jabba. 😦 😉
I have these framed and matted together:

Gentle Giant Max Rebo Band Statue
This statue is a companion piece to Gentle Giant’s Jabba the Hutt and Rancor statues. They’re all more or less in scale with each other, although this statue may be slightly too big to truly be in scale. I’ve heard a number of people ask whether this statue could be displayed with Sideshow’s 1/6 scale Jabba the Hutt. For me, the answer is a definite no. They just look too small in comparison. Sideshow has said they’re working on 1/6 scale versions of the band, but it’s been a very long time since we first heard that and there has been no progress as far as I know.
The statue consists of Sy Snootles, Droopy McCool, and Max Rebo himself (who comes up with these names, anyway?). Sy Snootles and Droopy McCool slot into the base with metal rods, while Max (and his “piano) is a separate piece that just sits on the base.
It also comes with a Salacious Crumb, who can sit on top of Max’s piano, staying in place with a magnet, but he can also be placed on Jabba’s throne.
The microphones are also separate pieces that fit into holes in the base with metal rods. While it hasn’t been available from Gentle Giant for some time, for some reason this piece is not very expensive on the secondary market, and there is very little to complain about its execution. If you want a representation of the band in your collection, then I heartily recommend it, especially if you don’t have issues of scale to worry about (trying to have it fit in with other pieces),
Gentle Giant Rancor Statue

This is the rancor statue from Gentle Giant. It’s without a doubt the best version of the rancor that has been produced. A lot of people had high hopes for the upcoming “There Will Be No Bargain” diorama from Sideshow Collectibles, but it turned out to only include part of the rancor. It’s probably going to be a nice piece, but it can’t really take the place of the Gentle Giant version.
At around 16 inches tall by 17 inches wide, this is a very impressive looking statue. My only real complaint would be about the keeper, who looks a little bit goofy (he’s been compared to Judge Reinhold, and I can sort of see the resemblance…) This is in scale with Gentle Giant’s Jabba statue as well.
Galactic Heroes Jabba (and Friends)

Here’s the Galactic Heroes Jabba. Cute, huh? I really like how they sculpted him.
There are a LOT of Jabba-related Galactic Heroes. In fact, they’ve made pretty much all of the major characters except for Salacious Crumb, Oola, Sy Snootles, and the Rancor keeper. There are 4 Jabba-related Cinema Scenes sets: “Jabba’s Palace” “Jabba’s Skiff” “Jabba’s Sail Barge” and the “Rancor Pit.”
Here are all of my Jabba-related Galactic Heroes figures (click for a larger view).
EDIT: I have now added entries for each of the Jabba-related Galactic Heroes Cinema Scene sets:

Jabba Glob Figure by Hasbro
This figure came out around the time of The Phantom Menace. It’s a bit different from the other Jabba action figures in that it is made of a relatively soft, rubbery material. (I also have a sealed case of these figures.)
It comes with a can of green goo and a number of plastic “froggies” that you put into Jabba’s head. When you squeeze the head, the goo and froggies are supposed to come out of the slit in Jabba’s mouth. I guess you could say it’s in the “gross out” genre of toys. While I get that Jabba is a disgusting character in some ways, I don’t really understand how they arrived at this concept, since there aren’t really any scenes of Jabba vomiting slime in the movies. My slime hasn’t completely dried out, but it is a lot less runny than it used to be (at least judging by the picture on the back of the package).
The sculpt isn’t bad, but I think it’s based on the Episode One Jabba, which I don’t care for that much compared to the Return of the Jedi version. It’s also very green, which throws the whole likeness off in my opinion.
Here are the little froggies.
EDIT: Here’s a YouTube video I made giving an overview of the figure.
Jabba the Griffin (Family Guy) Art Piece

Here is “Jabba the Griffin” (a la Family Guy) — a 5 x 7 piece by Elaine Perna. I asked her to recreate the scene from the episode “He’s Too Sexy For His Fat,” but I had her put Lois in the “Slave Leia” part and change the water pipe to be a bit more accurate.
Jabba and Friends Ink Drawing by Jeff Confer
This is one of the centerpieces of my collection, an original art piece by Jeff Confer. He did an amazing job. It’s a 18×24 drawing done in black ink in his “attack of the cute” style. Click the image for a larger view.
