Celebration VI Exclusive Droid Hunt Badge and Print by Spencer Brinkerhoff
The 501st Legion has been holding a “Droid Hunt” event at the last few celebrations. There’s a video here that explains it in detail, but essentially you would go to the 501st’s booth to get a badge that you would wear the following day. If a costumed member of the 501st saw it and said the “pass phrase,” you had to surrender your badge, but would be presented with a raffle ticket that might be used to win prizes.
They had a number of different artists design badges for the event at Celebration VI, but this particular one was created by Spencer Brinkerhoff. (Spencer did a Jabba the Hutt sketchcard for me a while ago, and also made a Jabba-themed print for Celebration V, called “That Bad, Huh?“)
Spencer went the extra mile by making an entire print that he gave away at the convention. Avfin, a member at the Sideshow Freaks Forum, is the one who hooked me up with all of my Celebration VI exclusives, and he was nice enough to pick this up for me even though I didn’t know it existed. Since I have the previous print from Spencer, I’m very glad I didn’t miss out on these.
As you can see, it shows Salacious Crumb pulling out C-3PO’s eye and the aftermath of Leia’s cruel premeditated attack on Jabba… 😉 The image below isn’t the best, since the print came rolled and it was a little tricky to get a good shot of it, but you get the idea.
Wow, that’s a really great print. Really nice of Avfin to pick it up for you.
