Jabba the Hutt Birthday Cake

February 7, 2010

This is my birthday cake this year. A friend of the family kindly made this for us and I think she did a fantastic job (she also made an iPhone cake for me 3 years ago). My four-year-old son likes Jabba’s son Rotta and requested that the cake have Jabba and Rotta hugging, so that’s what we did. 🙂 Jabba is made of chocolate cake, chocolate fudge, and fondant. More pictures below. If this is your first time here, welcome! The best place to start is with my Collection List, which is a visual overview of my collection with lots of thumbnail photos.

This is so ridiculously cool! I love Rotta, too 🙂

Hope you had a nice birthday!

    I love this blog!
And the cake is mazing! I would like to try to cook it. Is the recipe available?

Well, I don’t think there’s really a “recipe” to follow. You just have to be good at using cake and fondant to sculpt things, and that takes a fair amount of training and practice.

MY SON WOULD GO NUTS IF HE HAD THIS CAKE FOR HIS BIRTHDAY. HE’S VERY INTRIGUED WITH JABBA THE HUTT AND HIS ENTOURAGE. NOW I’M ON A QUEST TO FIND A BAKER WHO’LL BE ABLE TO MAKE THIS CAKE. THANKS FOR THE IDEA, IT’S BRILLIANT!

This was an amazing cake. I remember it went around the internet for a while. Very nice and i hope that it tasted as good as it looked.
