Celebration VI Exclusive Jabba’s Palace Maintenance Workman Shirt

September 3, 2012

I mentioned in some of my earlier posts about Celebration VI exclusives that I had trouble finding info about the products before the convention, and that was never more true than with this shirt. I put all of my Googling skills to the test and all I could find was a text description of it. Since I wasn’t going to be at the convention, I ended up having to buy it sight unseen. I was a little wary about this, considering the shirt cost $60. I don’t really think it’s worth that, but it is pretty funny and there can’t be too many people who have them. I doubt I would wear it except maybe at a convention or gathering of Star Wars fans. Maybe next celebration, if I can make it…

The idea is that this shirt would be worn by one of the grunts at Jabba’s Palace — specifically the guy in charge of scooping up rancor poop. It’s similar in style to shirts worn by mechanics or maintenance men, with patches on the front.

The design on the back is a transfer.

I like the image of what appears to be Malakili holding a pooper-scooper.

“Waste technician” is cute, although part of me would have preferred that they put Malakili’s name on the shirt in a similar style, since many workman shirts have the owner’s name on a patch.

Inside the shirt.

I bought it and the Millenium Falcon work shirt the following Celebration. Let’s just say that this was worth the $60, I have gotten compliments on it nearly every time I wear and sometimes not even from acquaintances but actual strangers.
