Attakus Slave Leia Statue

February 15, 2010

I hadn’t originally planned to buy this since the style seemed rather bland and unrealistic, and there’s very little resemblance to Carrie Fisher. But I got a very good deal on it and thought it would go nicely with the Attakus Jabba, as shown above. Indeed, while she comes with a base of her own, she is not attached to it so she can fit on Jabba’s base as well. While I don’t think it’s a great standalone piece, it does look really good with Jabba.

Unfortunately, after I got her home I discovered that the end of her braid was broken off and missing. It’s not very noticeable, but still disappointing. I got this in Japan, so it’s one of the 200 “Japanese edition” pieces that Attakus produced in addition to the standard run of 1500 for the rest of the world.

Do you think that you’ll get any other Attakus statues from Jabba’s retinue? I have Salacious Crumb and he is a very nice statue indeed.

I would say that’s somewhat unlikely given the state of Attakus’ Star Wars line in general, but you never know with them. I’d certainly like to see some more aliens (especially since Attakus seems to do better with non-human likenesses).

The Bib Fortuna by Attakus is pretty good and would make a grea addition to your set. It’s true, Attakus aren’t the greatest likenesses on some of their statues, they have more of an artistic feel about them. The Palpatine seated in throne is a great statue and Han in Carbonite would also be a great piece for your Jabba display. The G Guard is also very nice, some superb detailing.

The Han in Carbonite and Gamorrean are the last two I have to get for my Attakus setup. They’re more expensive than the other ones, so it’s been a little harder to pull the trigger, but I definitely want them both. Unfortunately, I don’t have a good place to display them all together.
